Mars missions have already been simulated in the Canadian Arctic, off the coast of Florida, in the deserts of Utah and most recently inside an Austrian ice cave, but none look as fun as the one currently underway on New York's Upper East Side. NASA-loving artist Tom Sachs’ new show will see a team of thirteen attractive astronauts simulating a mission to the red planet using low-fi bricolaged components manufactured by the artist to take them to the surface and back. with handcrafted parts ranging from paper spacesuits to an entire ‘Landing Excursion Module’ based on NASA’s lunar version, SPACE PROGRAM: MARS is a kid’s bedroom fort-building space fantasy come to life
